Phone call telling me to press a number and pound key

I got a call from (815) 500-0307 and the person on the line asked me to press any number and then the pound key. So I did it. Right after that the call just disconnected. Nothing else happened on the call.

Not long after, my credit card got compromised. I can't say for sure it came from this call but the timing lines up and it felt off when they asked me to press those keys. The number shows up as Joliet, IL.

I don't know who these people are. I just want it on record that this call happened and my card got hit around the same time.
