Phone call saying sealed documents and failure to comply
I didn't give them anything and I didn't lose any money, but it really threw me off. The way they worded it sounded so official and scary, like I was in trouble for something. I've never gotten a call like this before. Just wanted to put this out there so other people know about it.
Call saying I had to respond to a certified document
I didn't really understand what document they were talking about. They never said who they were or what company they were from. Just kept pushing that I had to act fast or it would get worse.
I didn't give them anything or send any money. Just hung up. Felt off the whole time.
Call about a sealed document and file number RB-572216
They said if I don't make contact it will be escalated and classified as failure to comply. Then they said to press one to be transferred to my file review manager or call the issuing office at that number. It just didn't make sense. I never got any paper notice or anything before this. I didn't press one. Just seems like a way to get me to call back. No company name was given either.
They used my social security numbers last four digits
Then they used my maiden name which I haven't used in years and isn't on any of my legal stuff. That was weird. I don't know how they got that. They are supposedly located in Georgia but I didn't get a company name from them. I didn't give them anything and I didn't lose any money. Just wanted to report this because it was really strange.
