Personal assistant job turned out to be a fake check scam

I applied for a personal assistant remote job that I found through my university. After I got the job, they sent me a check from their financial company to deposit. I deposited it and then found out the check was counterfeit.

I told my employer about it and he hasn't responded since. I lost $400 from this. The phone number they used was (225) 224-3369 and the email is [email protected]. The address shows Baton Rouge, LA 70898.
