Call about refinancing that turned into car warranty

Someone called me from (888) 351-0782 saying they were with American refinancing. They told me I needed to have a car warranty in order to refinance. That didn't make any sense to me but I went along with it and paid $98.

After that I never heard anything else about the refinance. Nothing. Then all the phones just shut down. I can't get through to anyone now.

They're listed as being in TX but I don't know if that's even real. The website just says American refinancing. I tried calling back and nothing works.
