Job offer email asking me to donate $500

I applied for a job through Indeed and then got an email saying they wanted to hire me. The pay was $40 an hour, $1600 a week. Sounded good at first.

Then they told me I needed to donate $500 to a charity of my choice. That part didn't make sense to me. Why would a new job ask me to donate money before I even start?

The email came from [email protected]. I didn't lose any money but I wanted to report it.
