Door-to-door stone work paid $3000 and they never finished

Paul came to the front door offering a deal to fix the stone pathway in front of the house and the patio behind. He described exactly what would be done, pulling up all the stone work, adding a membrane, filling with sand, adding quickset concrete at the edges. After they did more than half the job we paid $3000. The remaining balance was 500.

Then they demanded to be paid before the work was complete. They did not finish, only did half the patio and missed a large part of the path in the front. No sealer or silica sand between the cracks like they promised. No sealer and quickset concrete either. We have been calling for over a week and nobody calls back.

They promised a 10 year warranty and said no payment until we were completely happy. Now they have disappeared. During the job they tried several very expensive upsells and we declined. We are stuck finishing the sealing and sand ourselves.
