Paid $25 fee for board position and never heard back

I got contacted by Board Executive Search about being considered for a paid board of directors position. They said there was a $25 fee to make sure I was serious about it, so I paid it with my debit card. I also sent them my resume and the other stuff they asked for.

After that, nothing. I tried following up a few times to ask about my application status but never got any reply. No refund, no board placement, no explanation at all.

I'm pretty sure this is a scam because I've seen other people say the same thing about this company and this phone number (203) 212-8684. They take your money and then disappear. Just wanted to put this out there so others don't get taken.
