Text from mediator using client’s personal info

I got a text from someone named Brandy Brown saying she was a mediator. But she was texting me from a client’s phone and used the client’s name and date of birth. That doesn’t seem legal to me. The whole thing was about an eviction mediation.

I told her to reach out to the client’s landlord because I’m not the landlord and have nothing to do with the eviction. She said I needed to call her right away and that it was strange I wasn’t doing my job to prevent the eviction. That made no sense.

When someone else tried calling the number back, the voicemail didn’t have any business name on it. We couldn’t confirm the 503c group she claimed to be from was even real. A real mediator would know to contact the landlord and stay neutral. This person is either a scammer or has no clue how mediation works.
