Caller said Citibank but asked me to download apps

I called Citibank about getting a lower APR on my Best Buy card, since that's owned by Citibank. They gave me a number to call, and when I did, the caller ID said Cardtronics. A guy answered and said his name was Jason from Citibank.

He asked me to verify my name and last digits of social. Then he said he saw 3 charges at different stores on my card in the last 5 minutes. He asked if I was at a store and if I had an Uber account. I said yes. He convinced me to reinstall Uber because it might be breached. Then he wanted me to download some HelpDesk app so he could reverse the charges.

Something felt off so I told him I was going to my bank. He said no, don't do that. I went anyway. By the time I got there, three separate $100 gift card purchases had gone through on Google Pay. I'm disputing them with my bank now, but it's pending.
