Voicemail saying banks broke consumer protection laws

I got a voicemail from someone named Ryan saying he was from CBC. He said a recent investigation found credit card companies and major banks violated consumer protection laws like the Fair Credit Billing Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act. Because of that, he said these businesses aren't allowed to collect on accounts and I'm no longer legally required to pay back certain debt. He also said those balances would be removed from my credit report.

He told me to call 888-281-3613 to hear which banks and credit card companies were found guilty and what would be removed from my credit. He repeated the number again at the end.

I don't know who CBC is and I never signed up for anything with them. The whole thing sounded off to me. I didn't call back.

Voicemail from Ryan at CBC about debts not being collected

I let a call go to voicemail from (551) 292-4005 and the transcription said it was Ryan from CBC. He said some investigation found credit card companies and big banks broke consumer protection laws like the fair credit billing act and fair credit reporting act.

He said because of that these businesses can't collect on accounts anymore and I'm not legally required to pay back certain debt and the balances will be removed from my credit report. Then he gave a number to call, 888-417-3016, to hear which banks and companies were found guilty.

I didn't call back. The whole thing didn't make sense and there was no company name or anything in writing. Just a random voicemail telling me my debt would disappear.

Phone call saying my debt does not have to be paid

I got a call from someone saying his name was Ryan from CBC. He said a recent investigation found that credit card companies and big banks broke consumer protection laws, stuff like the Fair Credit Billing Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act. Because of that he said these businesses are not allowed to collect on their accounts anymore.

He told me I am no longer legally required to pay back certain debt and those balances would be removed from my credit report. Then he said to call 888-356-1808 to hear which banks and credit card companies were found guilty and what would be removed from my credit.

He gave a number (929) 241-1853 that showed up when he called. It just did not make sense that someone would call me out of nowhere with news like that.

I don't know who CBC is and none of this made sense to me. The number came up as 888-356-1808 and the address shows Chillicothe, IL 61523.

Phone call saying my credit card debt was erased

I got a call from someone named Ryan saying he was with CBC. He said there was some investigation and that credit card companies and big banks broke consumer protection laws. Because of that he said I don't have to pay back certain debt and those balances would come off my credit report.

He told me to call 877-549-2187 to hear which banks were found guilty and what would be removed from my credit. The whole thing felt off. I never signed up for anything like this and I don't know how they got my number.

They left an address too, 15536 La Maida St in Encino CA. I didn't call back.
