Because of that he said these businesses can't collect on their accounts and I'm no longer legally required to pay back certain debt, and those balances would be removed from my credit report.
He told me to call 866 951-6227 to hear which banks and credit card companies were found guilty and what would be removed from my credit. I didn't lose any money but this whole thing seemed off to me.

He was saying something about an investigation that found credit card companies and banks broke consumer protection laws. He said because of that I don't have to pay back certain debt and it will be taken off my credit report. He told me to call 888-389-3588 to hear which banks were found guilty.
It just seems like a phishing thing. I didn't call the number.

It just sounded like a recording trying to get me to call back. I didn't lose any money but the whole thing felt off.

The whole thing felt off. No company name I recognized, just CVC. The number they gave was 888-356-1808 and the address shows Charleston, WV 25301. I didn't lose any money but this seems like phishing.
