Call about a case from a number that doesn't check out

So this person called my father-in-law's phone looking for me. The number showed up as 850-202-7997. The guy said he was from Davis Associates and that it was super important I call him back right away about some case. He even gave my father-in-law a case number to write down. The number he left for me to call back was (888) 751-6614.

I didn't recognize the 850 number so I looked it up on google. Nothing came up for Davis Associates. Then I searched the 888 number and found some scam reports on the BBB about it. So I didn't call them back. My father-in-law did try the 888 number once and it did go to Davis Associates but he just sat on hold. I told him not to call them again.
