Call about old debt from a place I never used

Anthony from Davis & Associates called me. He said they were trying to serve me paperwork for a lawsuit from a debt I had in 2012 for Check and Go. I have never heard of this place or these people in my life. He said I owed them $1825 and I got nervous and hung up on him.

Went to the Sheriffs Dept the next day. They told me if someone was trying to serve me they would know about it, and this sounds like a scam. Just wanted to put this out there so other people are aware. The number that showed up was (880) 752-6207.

Man called about civil matter and read my social

A man named Mike Medina called me and said I needed to call Davis & Associates about a civil matter. When I asked what it was for, he just told me to call 888-752-6207 and they would have all my info. Then he read my social security number out loud to me and asked if it was mine. I didn't answer him.

I kept asking what this was about, but he just kept saying to call the number. I told him I don't owe anybody money and I'm not calling anyone, then I hung up. He called right back to my job and was really rude to the receptionist. He gave her the number again and told her if I didn't call today, he would show up at my workplace tomorrow. He left a case number too. I looked up the number he gave and saw stuff about this being a scam involving Davis & Associates.
