Job offer asking me to buy something before pay

I got this job offer out of nowhere. They said I'd get $5,000 for the first month and then move up to $6,000 every two weeks. Sounded good at first, I won't lie.

But then they said I had to buy some product before I got paid. They told me they'd send a check through email for me to cash first. That didn't sit right with me. They kept pushing and getting more insistent about it too. The phone number they used was (406) 720-9156 and they gave an address in Dillon, MT.

I'm still trying to figure everything out. I just stopped dealing with them after that. Lost $60 already messing with this.
