Job interview on Signal for EcoPlus Power turned out strange
When I talked to this person on Signal, his full name was Dominic D Lillie and he used [email protected]. He told me they provide the equipment for the role. It was $23 an hour for training for a customer service and administrative assistant position, and after training it would go up to $28. He was messaging me late at night which I thought was odd. Then he asked for my ID for verification and a background check.
We did a search and found out this was a bait and switch phishing scam.
Email about remote job then hired through Signal messenger
Next thing I know I'm hired and they sent me an onboarding website. It had an offer letter, I-9, banking information, all of that. The site was Onboard.EcoPluspower.org and the email was [email protected]. The phone number was (501) 236-3223.
Something just didn't feel right about the whole thing. I didn't lose any money but I gave them my information before I realized what was going on.
