Survey for a Medicare kit turned into a contest fee
I get alerts for every charge on my card. When the alert came through, the charge was to Effortless Chic Fashion, not MyChart. So I looked them up and called. The person said the $14.95 was an entry fee for a contest, and if I got picked, the fee would cover shipping too. But the email never said anything about a contest. I asked how many winners there would be, and she didn't straight out say it, but it sounded like only one.
Think about how many people probably paid that "fee." It's not really about my $14.95, it's about all the other ones they're collecting. I already contacted Citi Bank and plan to dispute the charge once it posts. I just hope someone looks into this and they get some kind of negative action taken against them.
