Paid $250 for a puppy that never came

I was looking for puppies in the Kansas City MO area and found a page with over 1700 followers. They had some available and asked for $250 to reserve one. That seemed normal to me since a lot of reputable places do that. We were planning to go pick the puppy up but then they said they could deliver it because they already had one in the area. I asked if there was a cost and they said it was free so we agreed.

They said they delivered the dog to a shipping company and sent me a link to track it – trackharbor.vercel.app with a code TH3BAK-1PBHPG. This was all done through a second number 667-497-3118. It all seemed really formal and legit at first. Then the delivery company asked for a $700 deposit for a carrier for transport and that is when I realized this was an elaborate scam. After that they tried to tell me I had to pay a $150 fee to cancel the delivery.

I also got a call from the breeder and he had a Caribbean accent. The Facebook link is gone now. I lost the $250.
