Phone call saying my service cost could go down

Someone called me claiming to be from Fido. They said they could lower my service cost and give me a free phone upgrade. The thing is, they already had all my account info. Name, address, account details, even my credit card number. So it was really hard to tell it wasn't actually Fido.

They had me place the order for the new phone on my account. When it showed up and they tried to activate it, they said the phone was registered wrong. To fix it fast, they sent a courier or an Uber driver to pick it up and said a correct phone would be delivered. That phone never came.

Fido does nothing to warn customers about this. This has been going on for about 2 years. Now Fido says I am 100% responsible for the cost of the phone that was delivered and then stolen.
