Calls from GOS-DOC asking for my social insurance number

I kept getting calls from GOS-DOC which is the government. When I called back they asked me to verify with my social insurance number. I thought it was trusted since I have talked to them before and the caller display ID looked legitimate, so I keyed in my numbers.

Wait a minute I told myself, they are trying to get your voice recorded and I hung up.

I called the government office and they told me no one tried to call at 21:05 or at 12:05 from one of their numbers which is 888-863-8657, which is a number to the government.
