Insurance proof letter with no VIN number on it

I got this letter in the mail from Guardian Protection Group at 2070 Little Hills Expressway, St. Charles, MO 63301. It was asking me to send them proof of insurance on a vehicle. The thing is, I never had this vehicle and I never bought it. There wasn't even a VIN number attached to anything in the letter.

The letter was addressed to Thomas S. Cameron but that's not me either. I have no idea who that is or why they sent this to me. It just doesn't make any sense. I've never dealt with this company before in my life.

I'm pretty sure this is some kind of phishing thing. They're trying to get me to send them my insurance info for a car that doesn't even exist as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sending them anything. I just wanted to report this so other people know about it. The address on the letter says Texas but the company is in Missouri so it's all just weird.

Letter said Subaru but it was a third party insurance

I got a letter in the mail telling me to call Subaru and register my coverage account. So I called the number and the person on the phone said they were from Subaru. They asked me how the car has been and if I had any problems to report. They told me to make sure I do regular maintenance and to visit any Subaru dealership, not just the one in Concord.

They never once said they were a third party insurance. They took my credit card info and signed me up for something. I had no idea I was signing up for a third party insurance and I never consented to it. I would never have paid for that or signed up. They claimed to be Subaru and needed to verify the coverage after purchase. The company name on the paperwork is Guardian Protection Group. I lost $263.58 to this.

No company name on final notice about my car warranty

I got this "Final Notice" in the mail the other day. It says I haven't "contacted us to have your vehicle service contract activated." They mention the phone number 888-926-1464 a bunch of times but never say who "we" are. At the very bottom it says all policies are through Guardian Protection Group, but that's it.

What's weird is they know the year and make of my car and even have the first 9 numbers of the VIN right, followed by asterisks. That part is creepy. I didn't call the number because the whole thing looked fishy. I googled the number and sure enough, it's a scam. I didn't lose any money, but still.

Letter about car warranty with no service contract bought

I got a letter in the mail titled "RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED" right after I bought and registered a new vehicle. The name on the letter was "Jeff Morton, Program Coordinator." It was a very aggressive letter saying I needed to "activate my coverage" for a service contract.

I never bought any service contract. The company listed is "Guardian Protection Group" and they wanted me to call a number. They had my name, address, and the year/make/model of my vehicle. They must have pulled that from when I registered the car or titled it. The phone number was 1(888) 926-1464.

Mail from Jeff Morton about coverage I never asked for

For the past several years I keep getting letters in the mail from Jeff Morton, who says he's the Program Director at Guardian Protection Group. He wants me to call his office at 888-928-1981 to avoid any delays in coverage. What coverage? I don't even know this company.

They're threatening to revoke my eligibility after a certain date, 6/26/26. How stupid is that? I reported this to the Nevada A.G. office and they didn't do anything. How am I supposed to get these crooks to stop?

I got this piece of mail made to look like an important notice. It had basic information about my vehicle, like the year, make, model, and even part of the VIN. That felt off. Scam letter about my Subaru warranty led to a $285 charge

I got a letter that looked like it was from Subaru about activating my extended warranty before the factory one ran out. It told me to call a number to activate it, so I did. The person who answered said the company name was "Guardian Protection Group." I asked if I had the right place because I was trying to set up the extended warranty on our Subaru Legacy, and they said they handle all of Subaru's extended warranties.

Now we found out the letter was a scam. They have nothing to do with Subaru. We actually already have Subaru's gold plus plan. Guardian Protection Group sent a pamphlet saying our credit card would be charged $285.00 or $5209.00. They already took a $285.00 activation fee. We don't need or want this fake coverage. I don't know what to do about it.
