Charged yearly fee after site said my card failed

I tried to sign up for the one month plan on their site, guard.io. I put in my Discover card info and it said it wouldn't work. So I figured, okay, whatever, I'll try something else. Then a few minutes later I get a text from Discover asking if I made a charge for $119.88. It was Guardio charging me for their yearly subscription fee. So they lied about my card not working and charged me anyway.

I called Discover and they said I need to contact Guardio to sort it out. But Guardio doesn't have a phone number. The only way to reach them is through a chat bot on their website. I'm out the $119 and can't even talk to a real person about it.

Charged more than agreed and no refund offered

Guardio charged my card for more than what I agreed to. I asked for a refund and they denied it. They make it really hard to see what you are actually ordering or paying for on their site.

It feels like they do this on purpose to trick older people into buying stuff they never agreed to. I paid 199.99 and now I'm stuck with it.

I'm going to report this to Ecautious.com and I'm also going to notify my bank about their dishonest practices. I'll leave a detailed review too. This isn't right.

Trial period turned into a big charge with no way to contact them

I signed up for what was supposed to be a trial period. After the trial was over I could pay $9.99 a month. But instead I was immediately charged $215.86. It came as two separate payments from my bank card, one for $95.98 and another for $119.88.

I have tried to chat with someone from their side about this and every time they ask me to agree to pay another fee just to talk. My wife tried to find a phone number. She called the number she found but it was not a real person, just a recording that gave an email address. She tried to email and the email would not go through. Then she went to the Guardio site and found a contact us area. She tried to email through there and the email still did not go through.

We are getting nowhere trying to get this problem resolved.

Free antivirus trial charged my card twice for $319

I signed up for a free trial of Guardio antivirus for my phone. They asked for my card number before I could even finish signing up. Then my account got hit twice for a total of $319.87.

I called them and they said the money would be refunded in 24 hours. They said if it wasn't, to go online. Money never showed back up. Called again today and they just told me to request a refund online. So I'm still out the money.

App I never signed up for charged me $183.90

I was looking for an app to clean up my phone storage. Found one called Phone Clean, installed it, gave permission and my credit card for like $5 or something small. That was it.

Next thing I know my phone is blowing up with alerts and a company called Guardio says thank you for opening a 1 year account for $183.90. I never heard of that company in my life. I didnt agree to any of that.

There is no human to talk to. Just AI and chatbots. Nothing.

Charged way more than they said and now I can't cancel

So I signed up for Guardio because they said it was 9.95 a month to protect my email from fraud. That sounded fine. But then they charged me 119.88 dollars instead. I didn't even notice at first until I saw my bank statement.

Now I'm trying to cancel and it's impossible. I can't get through to anyone and there's no way to stop the payments. I just want my money back or at least for them to stop charging me. Their website is Guardio and their phone number is 1(771) 249-8378 but nobody answers. This doesn't feel right at all.

They took my money after I said I didn't want the service

This thing popped up on my phone and computer saying it was scam protection. I tried the trial period but then I said I didn't want it. I must have sent them six or seven emails about it.

They went ahead and took the money out of my bank account anyway. I used PayPal with them. I even sent them a copy of the email they sent me right before the trial was up, where I said explicitly I do not want your product. I have a record of about 10 emails from me saying why I didn't want the service and to please give me my money back.

PayPal couldn't help me. I just consider the money lost. Their trial period is useless. They still take your money. I will never fall for anything like that again. Do not deal with this company.

Charged me after a free trial without asking

I got a message about a 7 day trial for Guardio. They said you could cancel and they would even ask you if you wanted it before they billed you. That didn't happen. The money just came out of my account.

I emailed their customer service about it. They told me there was nothing they could do. The only option was to refund half the $119 if I turned the service back on. That doesn't make any sense to me. I didn't want it turned on in the first place.
