Job offer on Handshake wanted me to cash a check for equipment
The offer seemed off. It was way too detailed, like it was written by AI or something. They said they would send me a check to pay for a technology package I would need for work. I was supposed to deposit the check, then tell them which computer package I wanted to order. After I got the equipment, I would start onboarding and finally meet my supervisor and team.
It just didn't make sense. Why would a company send me money before I even started? I didn't go through with it.
