Job offer for IT Help Desk turned into weird Signal message request

I got a job offer on Handshake.ai for an IT Help Desk Technician position at HJM Precision, Inc. on June 24, 2026. They sent me a contingent offer letter that told me to download Signal and either click a link or use a phone number to message their HR.

The email came from [email protected] and also listed a phone number 407-212-7795. It just felt strange having to message someone through Signal for a real job. I never got any actual company info or talked to a real person.
