Called saying I was served legal papers over voicemail

I got two calls from a guy who said his name was Ray and he was with Independent Process Services. He told me I needed to call 888-752-6207 about some legal paperwork that had to be signed and delivered to me. He gave me a case number and then said if I didn't comply, further legal action would be taken against me without me knowing. Then he said "you have been served."

Well you can't serve someone over a voicemail. That's how I knew it was a scam. Real process servers don't call you like that. They have ways to find your home address and they will serve legal paperwork that way. They don't do it over the phone or email. People need to be aware of the law. These scammers will tell all kinds of lies to get you on the hook.
