Caller claiming to be IRS asking for my Medicare number

Got a call today and the caller ID said Internal Revenue. The person on the other end started asking about Medicare qualification stuff. They wanted my Medicare Card number and were really pushing me for it, like I had to give it right then.

I didn't feel right about it so I just hung up. The number they called from was (276) 642-7435 and I looked it up, it's from Bristol, VA. I know the IRS doesn't call like that asking for Medicare info, that doesn't even make sense. Just wanted to report it.
