My mother and aunt lost over 100k to romance scammers on Facebook

My mother and my aunt both got caught up in those online romance scams on Facebook. They thought they were talking to real people, doctors and military men, but it was all fake. These people even pretended to die at one point, which really messed with their heads.

Between the two of them, they sent over 100,000 dollars. The checks were made out to "J.D.B Corporation" which I guess is who they thought they were helping. I went to Chase Bank, where they have their accounts, and tried to tell them what was happening. They just said there was nothing they could do about it. That was it. No help at all.
