Call about renewing a home warranty I do not have

Someone called me about renewing a home warranty that they said was secured by JP Morgan Chase. I do not have any warranty like that. They wanted me to call a number back to renew it.

They gave me a customer ID, HDU1ACFF2077, and said the offer would expire 10/1/2026. The number they left was (805) 825-3942. None of it made sense to me because I never had a home warranty through Chase.

Phone call saying someone used my info for a checking account

I got a call from a number that showed up as JP Morgan Chase on my caller ID. The guy said he was a fraud rep with Chase and that they caught some fraud. He said an online checking account I applied for got flagged. I told him I never applied for any account. Then he asked if I knew a woman named Linda Moore in Pennsylvania. I said no. He told me she used my information to open an online checking account and authorized two Zelle transactions for $5000 total.

He wanted me to write down a case number, so I did. Then he made me repeat it back to him. After that he tried to connect me to a second person who said they were with Zelle. Right away something felt off so I hung up.

Call from someone saying they were Chase fraud department

I got a call from a number that showed up as JP Morgan Chase. The person said they were from the fraud department. They asked if I tried to open a bank account and do a wire transfer for $9,500 to someone named Emily Morales from Long Beach California. I said no.

Then they started asking if I had traveled or used public wifi. They gave me some confirmation numbers and transferred me to another person. That person said I needed to add a zelle recipient so they could cancel the transactions. That's when I realized something was up and I hung up.

I checked my accounts and saw no activity. So I'm guessing they were phishing for information or were going to ask me to send money through zelle to someone.

Call from someone claiming to be Chase verification

A man called today saying he was with JP Morgan Chase’s verification department. He said he was calling about two large outgoing Zelle transfers, one being for $3,000.

But he never asked for me by name. He didn’t even ask if I was so-and-so. I asked him who he was looking for and he said some name that wasn’t mine. I told him, “That’s not me,” and he just hung up.

The number showed as (212) 552-5100. I didn’t lose any money but it felt really off.

Got a weird call about someone trying to open an account in my name

I got a call from (212) 479-5212. The person said they were calling from JP Morgan Chase. They told me someone named Jessica White was trying to open an account in my name out in California. They said she was trying to transfer five thousand dollars from my account using Zelle.

They tried to transfer my call to what they called a fraud account department. It just felt off to me, so I hung up. I never gave any information, but it was a strange call to get.
