Letter about a life insurance policy for someone I never knew

I got this letter from Lantos George LLP, dated March 30, 2026. It was all formal with a professional letterhead and a reference number MS/CA02144778/L40019024. They were asking for my consent to be in a partnership with Lantos Petersen and to put my name on a life insurance policy benefit for the Late Eng. ****** *******.

The letter said this person died two years ago from covid-19. They claimed they tried to locate any relatives with no success. Since I have the same last name and nationality, they were contacting me. He said all the proceeds would be processed on my behalf.

I don't know this person. I never heard of him. It just doesn't make any sense to me. The website on the letter is www.lantosgeorge.com and the address is 720 Spaulding Ave. Toronto, ON Canada. Their email is [email protected]. I just wanted to report this because something feels off about it.
