Law firm called about a credit card I never had
I called them to get more info and they hung up on me three times. They refuse to give me their location or where these banks are. I smell fraud with this firm. Beware!
Message saying I’d be served for a 14-year-old debt
He claimed they sent me mailed notices before but I never got any. I told him I didn’t remember the debt and he said he didn’t want to call me a liar. Then I called him a liar and he hung up on me. I called back and asked who they were and they said oh now we’re Legacy Litigation Group and connected me to the same guy. I told him this is a scam and he said you’ll see when the papers come. I asked when and he said 7 pm. No papers showed up.
Pretty sure they just wanted me to pay before getting served. They’ve got stolen old records and SSI numbers.
Phone call about a debt from 2013 with a threat to put a lien on our house
He emailed me a PDF letter. It had an address and company name on it but no phone number or website. The first caller gave me a phone number because he wanted to deliver a signature required letter to our house. He said the amount would go up to over $10k if they took it to court to file the lien.
I looked them up online and Google says it's a possible scam. There is no company called Legacy Litigation Group at that address or anywhere else. There is a Legacy Trust Group at the same address but that's not the same name. We didn't pay anything and we called our local police.
