Job offer turned out to be a fake check scam

Someone from a company saying they were M1 Teck inc reached out to me about a data entry job. They sent me a Teams invite for the interview, and the email was [email protected]. After the interview, both the person in the Teams chat and the email said they would send me a check to deposit into my checking account so I could buy home office stuff.

That seemed off to me, so I called the bank and also the company that was on the check. The bank gave me a phone number and confirmed there was money in the account, which made me think it was real. But then I got in touch with the business listed on the check, which was Equipmentville, USA LLC. They told me it was fraudulent and they never approved any transactions with me. I have the document showing all the messages I got from them.
