Breeder took $400 to hold a dog and then went quiet

We were trying to get a dachshund for our twins who are 9. We had already been passed over at the humane society for one we found, too many people wanted it, and my kids were heartbroken. So my husband found this breeder on google. We contacted them and started texting. We set it up to pick the dog up on sunday. They wanted 400 dollars to hold it, so my husband cash apped them.

After that they got sketchy. They would not send the paperwork or do a video chat so we could see the dog. Then they asked for the rest of the money without us ever seeing the dog, just a photo. That is when I said enough is enough. When we called them out on their crap story they stopped responding.

We wanted so bad to surprise our kids with this dog and ended up losing our money and not getting the dog. Just beware of this breeder. They are not legit.
