Pop-up on my PC about viruses and a text from a number I don't know

I got a pop-up on my computer warning about viruses. I couldn't close it or get out of it the normal way. Then I got a text message from 432-289-5328. My number is 336-392-7524. They also sent a wrong activation number for a McAfee PC Optimizer.

I went on live chat with a rep and asked why they sent me that 432 number and the false activation number. The rep couldn't tell me why. I asked for a refund. I lost $165.44.

I don't even know what country or state these people are in. I have a photo of my phone showing the text message they sent me.
