Instagram ad led to mystery charges on my card

I saw Memowrite on my Instagram feed maybe a month ago. I clicked it just to see what it was about, that's all I did. I never signed up for anything or put my card info in that I remember.

Last night in the middle of the night I got two separate charges on my card from them. My bank flagged it and put a hold on my card so the money never actually came out. But it was still a shock to see. I didn't get any email from them besides the one listed on their site, and I have no idea how they got my payment info.

Billed $206 for a service I haven't used in six months

Memowrite is a scam. I haven’t used the service for six months and to my surprise they billed me $206. I can’t get a hold of them. Their website is www.memowrite.com and they’re based in CA, USA. I tried emailing [email protected] but no reply. Everything is AI and I just want my money back. Their phone number is (425) 517-1776 but nobody picks up.

Memowrite charges kept adding up after the trial started

So I tried Memowrite and the process was fun and easy at first. But then the charges on my credit card started piling up. For three books it was going to run me about $200 total. Fine, I thought.

The first few questions they asked were meaningful. After like 3 or 4 questions though, they got really shallow and lacked depth. Just superficial stuff.

I contacted them for a refund since I was still in the trial period. I told them why I wanted to cancel and to refund what I paid. They did give me some money back, about half. If you want a shallow account of your life, this is the one for you.

My memoir book was ruined and they won't give me my money back

I'm adding my voice to everyone saying Memowrite is a scam. They didn't just take my money, they charged me twice. I spent so much time and put my heart into writing my personal memoirs for their service. They promised I could pick my own chapter titles. My book showed up three months late, and it's a total disaster. All my pictures are in random, wrong places. The worst part is the title they put on the chapter about my prized horses: "Comfort On A Plate." It's ridiculous.

Everything I wrote so carefully is ruined. I've asked for a new book and a refund. They just keep gaslighting me, saying they've "escalated my claim" and nothing happens. I lost $150 and all that work. Buyer beware. Stay away from them.
