Letter offering to buy my stock shares

I got a letter in the mail from New York Depository saying they wanted to purchase my shares of stock. The payout amount they mentioned was 2,124.50. I thought it was a bit strange because I never contacted them about selling anything.

The letter said I had to get the acceptance letter and my drivers license notarized and send it back to them. Their address is 295 Madison Ave 12th floor New York, NY and they have a website newyorkdepository.com. I also saw an email [email protected] and a phone number (212) 523-0973 on the paperwork.

I didn't send anything because it felt off. I just wanted to report this so others know about it.
