Phone call saying I owed money from an old HSBC account

John from North Coast processing called my son and gave him his information so I could contact them about a collection account that was never paid. He told me the name of the bank and how much money I supposedly owed.

I looked into it and I did have an account that was paid off in 2021. They threatened me with wage garnishment and a lien on my house. When I talked to the superior today I told her I did my own investigation and they are not a legitimate company. She just told me to have a nice day and hung up. She didn't want to hear what I had to say. He also told me HSBC is a preparatory lender and will do anything to get a debt paid.
