Email pretending to be my husband asked HR to change direct deposit

Someone sent an email to the HR person at my husband's job pretending to be him. They said we needed to change our direct deposit information. And the info actually got changed. The HR person texted my husband later saying she thought about it and decided she better make sure it was legit. But this was after it was already changed. Thank goodness she contacted us before payroll next week or it would've been a mess trying to get that figured out and reimbursed. Scammers will go to any lengths ugh!
