Fireplace repair guy took $500 deposit and went quiet

My fireplace stopped working so I called this guy out to look at it. He came to the house, checked it out, and said it was the pilot light. Told me he needed to order the part. Then he sent someone else over to replace the pilot, and after that he said now it's the gas valve. That was never mentioned when he first came out.

He asked for a $500 deposit and I sent it through Zelle. Then I didn't hear from him for almost two weeks. I texted him, and I can send pictures of our messages if needed. I told him I didn't want to finish the work because I don't trust him at this point. He replied a couple times but never gave me my money back. Now he's been ignoring me for over a week. I just want my $500 back.
