Two checks from two different companies for the same job

I applied for a job on a website and got contacted about it. All the communication was done through email. I started getting suspicious because most companies supply you with the tools. They do not send you a check to purchase yourself.

I received not 1 but 2 checks on the same day for the same amount. They came from 2 different businesses and neither one was from the actual company Pacific Software Ventures. That's when I started looking into this to see if they were legit.

I ran into a page with a story very similar to what I am dealing with now. The email they used was [email protected].
