Mom paid $217 on fake passport site

My mom was trying to renew her passport by herself. She googled it and thought she was on the travel.state.gov site. She asked me to help her upload her photo. We got to the payment part and it didn't have an option to upload the photo before paying. I told her maybe it comes after, since I did mine through the mail and wasn't sure. But after she paid the $217, then it let us upload.

She got a confirmation email and then another notice saying she still owed $130 for a "gov't processing fee." Plus she was charged $19 for an "application protection fee" and $29 for shipping. That's how it added up to $217.

I went on the real travel.state.gov site and there's a scam warning right on the homepage. The email and website are [email protected] and it's out of FL.
