PayPal invoice scam tried to take over my neighbor's PC

I got a scam that ended up leading to a takeover of my neighbor's PC. We were able to stop it though. It was a textbook PayPal Bitcoin Invoice Scam, also known as a Refund Scam. The whole point of the thing is to make you panic over a big unauthorized charge, like a fake Bitcoin or crypto purchase, so you feel rushed into calling the fraudulent support number on it. The number was (813) 343-9312 and the email was [email protected].

I did not give any banking or credit card details over the phone. We did delete the trojan programs from the PC but I don't remember their exact names. There were two other attempts besides AnyDesk that failed.

Just want to report this.
