Letter about my mortgage warranty with PHFA name on it

We got a letter in the mail saying it was the last warning and to contact them. It had our mortgage lender's name PHFA on it, so we thought it was legit. When we called the number, it said something about a home service contract hotline.

The person I talked to said the house was getting close to the 80 year mark and we needed to renew our warranty. I asked if it was required and if not doing it would mess with our mortgage. They said yes, so we gave them our bank info and debit card number. They even had our address and phone number "in file" already.

Right after we hung up, I called PHFA directly and they said it was a scam. So we immediately called our bank and they had to open a whole new account and issue us a new card. Just frustrating that they used our lender's name to make it seem real.
