Fake invoice from Platinum LLP Consulting with fake email chain

Got an invoice from Platinum LLP Consulting that was totally fake. They sent it to our payables department along with a bunch of emails that were supposed to make it look legit. The whole thing was based on that boss scam where someone pretends to be the boss telling finance to pay an overdue invoice or face a credit hold.

The email chain supporting it came from an account that had nothing to do with the company on the invoice. You had to look close but there were clues it was a scam. The payment would have gone to Enterprise Bank and Trust under the name Ted Riese. Their website looks real but I dont think they are involved.

The website on the invoice was www.playinumconstruct.com and the address was 89-16 Jamaica Ave in Woodhaven NY. The email was [email protected]. Just glad we caught it before sending any money. Scam with a u. Beware.
