Callers claiming to be QuickBooks took over my computer

I've been a QuickBooks customer for about 18 years, and I use QuickBooks Online. After I had some trouble logging in, people claiming to be with QuickBooks called me over and over for about ten days, up to and including October 5, 2026.

A woman who said her name was Hazel walked me through changing my password over the phone and talked about two accounts. Then today she called again saying there were major errors on my account and passed me to a "technical specialist." A guy named Derek took remote control of my computer using LogMeIn Rescue, told me there were 7,500 errors, and wanted to charge me a lot for recovery and protection. While he was in there I could see the billing page at qbo.intuit.com and my Citibank business info on the screen.

I never authorized any charges. An ACH for $2,789.49 went through on my Citi business account and I'm disputing it. I still don't know how they started it.
