Rental application approved then the locks were changed

I got a text message from someone claiming to be the landlord at the property on 3537 Foxhall Dr asking if we could come view the house and do a tour. They gave us the code to the keypad lock to get the key for the property. After I did the tour I filled out my application and got approved, paid my deposit and rent, and they gave me the key the same day Thursday 09-24-2026.

But when I came to the property the next day Friday 09-25-2026 the lock was changed from the keyhole and the keypad code was changed too. The back door was also unlocked and all the lights were shut off at the property. I lost $1,800. The phone number was 1(740) 416-8575 and the email was [email protected].
