Leftover blacktop deal turned into a 7,500 dollar surprise

They came by saying they had leftover blacktop and would give it to me for 3.00 a square yard. Said they'd keep me informed about the price as we go. So they did a big area and said that will be 2,500.00. I didn't think that was ok but then they did blacktop down to the road, I figured about another 2,500.00.

Then they ran out of material and the person, Rick, left. His father told me when they finished Monday he wanted another 5,000.00. Now he wanted a check for 7,500.00. Also Rick told me if they have to come back, still 3.00 a square yard, and nothing for labor or machines for the whole job. That didn't make sense to me at all.
