Job offer email turned out to be a fake check scam

I got an email to my school account about a Remote Virtual Assistant job and I was honestly excited because I've been behind on bills. A guy named Jason Broussard messaged me and sent me a paycheck to deposit into my own bank account. Then he told me to send back $400.00, which I did.

Later I found out the check was put on hold and my account went negative. I didn't give them my SSN or account numbers so I guess that's good, but I still lost the $400. The website was riverstone.build and the email was [email protected]. I just feel stupid for falling for it.
