Job interview that wanted me to scan a check for equipment

I applied for a job on Indeed and got an email back with interview info. It seemed normal at first, the whole thing felt legit.

After the interview they told me I had to buy my own work equipment. Then they said I would need to scan a check they sent me. That didn't make sense to me. I never scanned it.

The email came from some hirehive address and the phone number they gave was 1(945) 366-3722. I didn't lose any money but I'm pretty sure this wasn't a real job. Just wanted to put this out there.
