Remote job offer asked me to deposit funds and that felt off

I saw a remote job offer on Indeed and applied. Got an email back saying my application was reviewed and to download Signal and add this phone number for a Ms. Brison. Did that, filled out a questionnaire, passed the interview, and got a login and offer letter. They had me upload my ID and stuff to prove I could work in the US, which seemed normal.

Then they said my onboarding documents were approved and they would send "funds" to my email that I had to deposit through mobile checking. That part felt really weird to me so I stopped right there. I'm going to talk to my bank tomorrow. I looked into it more and found the real website is .net, not .com, so this is a scam. The mobile deposit thing was the red flag.
