Texts about my missing cat demanding $500

This person from (332) 285-1507 texted me about 2 days after our cat went missing. We had posted flyers and ads on social media asking for help finding her. They claimed they found her near my home so they knew my address. They demanded $500 either through cashapp or gift card. They would not take the cat to get scanned for a chip or accept cash in person. Demanded the money upfront and then would return the cat.

They gave me the cashapp $tnishatrent and the name on that account said Tanisha Trent. They sent me fake pics of my cat and have been harassing me for weeks since she was lost. I've tried everything to trace the name and number and have had no luck. They keep texting saying they will keep the cat if I don't pay.

It's traumatized my family severely and I want nothing more than to have this person identified and somehow caught for doing this if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated. Cat is also still missing.
