Booking online then they called asking for more money

I did a reservation online and got a booking number by email. About 10 minutes later they called saying the booking was incomplete and I needed to pay another $500 to get the full booking. I told them that's not proper business and asked to talk to a manager. He said he was the manager and the reservation is non-refundable.

He gave me two options. Option one was lose my reservation and my money. Option two was pay more money to get what I already booked. I told them I was going to my lawyer and would report them. I had to go to my bank in person to cancel my debit card and try to stop the charges. Lost $484 total.
